I hope for you

Today, a raw and vulnerable part showed up within me, that which holds all the many pieces of life, tries to juggle them and puts some aside for a different time. I let the tears roll down my cheeks as I allowed myself to fully feel the depth of life.
A teacher of mine once said, " Hard is not bad. Life can be hard. But hard is not bad.” Hard is just hard, and it brings with it so much beauty and hope, right there from the depths of the brokenness.
I wrote this and chose to share it so that you, too, can allow yourself to feel the depths of life and remember that it’s ok.
I hope for you to find comfort in knowing that beauty grows from hardship. That our challenges may build us, but they can break us first. That the road to healing can be so ugly.
Maybe as ugly as yelling, as dysfunctional, as kicking and screaming, crying yourself to sleep, or wishing just to make it through the day. Ugly wears many colors, and for each, it may look different.
I hope you know that humbleness is learned when life doesn’t go the way you planned, and the hug from your Father silently says, “I got this, you can now let go”. That’s humble born in the face of the bravery it takes to pop that ego.
It can look like life unfolding differently than that which you dreamed of. ,A life that may confuse you as you attempt to make decisions, a life that will throw rocks your way. They may break you just when you thought you were walking down a quiet road.
Yet when you find the strength to catch those rocks, you discover how capable you are. That knowledge humbles you.
Perhaps they may break you first into a million pieces, and as you shout out at the brokenness, you discover that you are the greatest, most creative, and courageous artist who has found the power to rebuild something more beautiful than what was. You dared, possibly against your will, to try again.
I hope you find hope when you begin to view the world through a different lens. Not black or pink, rather those kind that show you not to take anything at surface value, those glasses that you earned as you learned from your own personal experience. Perhaps you fought those very lessons you were meant to learn from, yet they taught you to be gentle with humanity.
I hope you learn to feel loved by the One who decided your life is worthy, that you learn to open your heart and accept being protected and worthy.
I hope you value an open heart more than success and human approval.
I hope more than anything that you don’t stop hoping.
